Directions
to Galilee Rhode Island To
the Port Of Galilee From Route 95 North:
Take exit 92 in Connecticut. Bear right onto North Stonington
Rd., Rte 2. Look for right hand turn for Rte. 78. At the end of
Rte. 78, go left onto Rte. 1N. (Look for a sign that says:
"Block Island Ferry"). Travel on Rte. 1N until the
Galilee, Pt. Judith exit, Rte. 108. Bear right onto Rte. 108S
(Pt. Judith Rd.) and travel for approx. 3 miles until a right
hand exit for the Block Island Ferry. To
the Port Of Galilee From Route 95 South:
Take exit 9 in Rhode Island, (Narragansett exit) to Rte. 4. Stay
on Rte. 4 to Rte. 1. On Rte. 1 take the Narragansett, Rte. 108
exit. Continue on Rte. 108S for approx. 3 miles until a right
hand exit for the Block Island Ferry, before taking the Block
Island Ferry whether you go on the "slow boat" (traditional
ferry) or the new High Speed Ferry you should know the weather -

Point Judith (Galilee) has some of Rhode Island's most
beautiful beaches.

Salty
Brine State Beach
Named for the legendary Rhode Island radio
personality, Salty Brine State Beach is a short stretch of
sand adjacent to the breachway in Galilee. Formally known as
the Galilee State Beach, Salty Brine has quiet waters that
are great for kids. It is also a wonderful spot to watch the
ships coming and going through the Breachway.

Roger
Wheeler State Beach
Roger Wheeler State Beach is located on Sand
Hill Cove Road near Galilee. Named for another important
Rhode Islander, Roger Wheeler formed the life saving system
in Rhode Island. With waters sheltered by the Point Judith
Breakwater, Roger Wheeler State Beach has calm waters that
are popular with families with small children. The large
bathhouse has picnic tables and a playground for the kids.

Scarborough
State Beach and Scarborough South
Located on Ocean Road, Scarborough is known
to many as the jewel of Rhode Island's beaches. Scarborough
is very popular with a large bathhouse and numerous
pavilions along the beach-side boardwalk. To the south,
Scarborough South has its own bathhouse and large grassy
areas that are great for picnics with family and friends.
